He closed the Guantanamo Bay Prison on his first full day in office. Wow that’s some decision. Well he has a lot going for him what with him being a president twice already haaha, for has he not taken the oath again?
Baby steps..

This is a first step for the US.. Lets not say that America has its first Black President, but that Obama’s victory has paved the way for ‘A first black president’ of the United States of America.

So Obama is the first step. Born of a white mother and a black father, and with relatives from almost all over the world belonging to various religions, if anything then Obama is the first ‘Ebony and Ivory’ President.

Its just like the papers in India shouting ‘Golden Globe for an Indian film at last’
‘Indian Cinema has arrived’
‘10 Oscar nominations for an Indian movie’
or sentiments like ‘the Indian Cinema is at par with the world or (hilarious) ‘finally being recognized’.

The movie in question is ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and the director who made it all possible is Danny Boyle who doesn’t need an introduction-even in India now, even though people in their excitement are ready to pass him off as an Indian or someone who is ‘more Indian than Indians themselves’.

Well an Indian didn’t make this movie – but he got this half bred/bastard movie noticed/selected at the Golden Globes and now the Oscars too. Indian Movie isn’t just being made in India, but will have an Indian director as well who can show that he can get an Indian movie the recognition that Danny Boyle got it.

‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is half an Indian movie and Obama is only half black. Slumdog is ‘America’s Obama’ in movies-it’s the first baby step.

I am proud of The America that elected Obama as President, and it wasn’t all black vote that he got. Lets please not forget that people. We need many more steps to achieve a true feeling of brotherhood in the world. And for that we don’t need statements from celebs like Denzel Washington who wield a lot of power on impressionable minds.

Martin Luther king III writes in the Washingto Post that ‘I was overcome ( at Obama being chosen) not only by the jubilation that enveloped the church but also by a deep sense of pride ( I understand) and Triumph ( whoa ). Of course I shared in what felt like a national catharsis. But for me, mr. Obama’s victory was intensely personal.’

Denzel Washington says ‘We (??) waited a long time to get here, but we have to be involved. Its about all of us. There’s been a lot of change to lead to this moment. Many came before him, made sacrifices for this day to happen. Its for them’.

Now I do understand what you’re saying here mah man but it reeks of (definitely) divisive. And we don’t want that. We can do without it.
